Chad's family is renting a cabin at Greenbow State Park, which is 390 miles from where they live. They plan to leave early in the morning on Saturday and stop after 4 hours to have lunch. They will complete the trip in the afternoon. They plan to drive at an average speed of 60 miles per hour. How many hours will they drive in the afternoon?

In the morning, they will cover 240 miles (60mph x 4 hr). This leaves 150 miles for the afternoon.

Since they are driving 60mph, it will take 2.5 hours to cover 150 miles. (2.5 = 150/60)

The answer is 2.5 hours.
