I understand that we are being heavily taxed and forced to comply with unfair demands, but having the British Empire on our side is something we should keep in mind. This is an empire that knows how to fight wars, and if we were to attempt to revolt, I can surmise that we would be easily defeated. Also, under the British, each colonist is treated equally the same regardless of how wealthy or poor they are. On a side note, the taxes that are forced onto us heavily affect the wealthy’s overall profit. It would do all of us colonists a lot less harm if we were to comply and put up with the British empire’s demands so that we don’t suffer severe repercussions.
