Why is it important to exposing sodium borohydride to moisture?

1. Sodium borohydride is a mild reductant, but water can amplify its reactivity and make it too strong of a reductant. 2. Sodium borohydride ignites when it comes into contact with water. 3. Sodium borohydride is hygroscopic and when it reacts with water it loses a hydride and no longer can be used as a hydride source.
