In at least one complete sentence, explain why the graph of y = 2x+1 does not go through

the point (2,3).

Answer:

the slope of the line is 2, meaning that for every movement of 1 in the x direction, you would get a movement of 2 in the y direction. The +1 doesnt matter for this answer because even without it, the line wouldn't go through (2,3).

Answer:

The graph of y = 2x+1 will never go through the point (2,3) because the graph is a linear function which means it goes in a straight line. Knowing this, when y = 3, x = 5 this means that the function will never hit (2,3)
