I am giving you a short cut formula which gives approximate value of square root

√P = √Q + (P-Q)/2√Q

Where P is the number whose square root is required

Here √P=√3

Q is the nearby perfect square like Q = 4 here

√P = √3 & √Q =√4=2

√P = √Q + (P-Q)/2√Q = 2 + (3-4)/2(√4) = 2 + (-1/4) =2 –(1/4)=2 -.25 = 1.75

This is approximate value

By calculator √3=1.732…
