2. Use three digits to write a number equal to 3 hundreds, 4 tens, and 8 ones.

If we are asking for 3 digits, we are looking for hundreds, tens, and ones. The hundreds go first, so we have 3*100=300. Then the tens, so 4*10=40. Last the ones. 8*1=8. Finally, we add everything together. 300+40+8=34+8=348
