Explanation:

parallel lines have the same gradient..

y=x+7 has a gradient of 1.

If line J which is parallel to k has a gradient of 1 then they are the same.

gradient (m) =y

∆x

=y- -1 = 1

x - - 3

= y + 1

x+3

y+1=x+3

y=x +3 +1

y = x + 4(equation for k)
