Step 1: Find the slope:


m = (y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) = (10-6)/(6-5) = (4)/(1) = 4

Step 2: Set up your equation
y-y_1=m(x-x_1) using one of the points.

Using (5,6) we have
y-6 = 4(x-5).

Using (6,10) we have
y-10 = 4(x-6)

Both of those equations would be correct.
