Explanation:

(2x - 1)/(4) + (x)/(3) = 2

find a common denominator of 12 for each fraction

(3)/(3) * ((2x - 1))/(4) + (4)/(4) * (x)/(3) = (12)/(12) * (2)/(1)

(6x - 3)/(12) + (4x)/(12) = (24)/(12)

(6x - 3 + 4x)/(12) = (24)/(12)

(10x - 3)/(12) = (24)/(12)

multiply both sides by 12

12 * (10x - 3)/(12) = (24)/(12) * 12

12s cancel out

10x - 3 = 24

add three to both sides

10x - 3 + 3 = 24 + 3

10x = 27

divide both sides by 10

(10x)/(10) = (27)/(10)

The tens on the left side cancel

x = (27)/(10) = 2.7
