The perimeter of a circle is finding the circumference of the circle

--> calculated by the equation:
\pi D = 2\pi R

  • D: diameter
  • R: radius

A semicircle has half of the circumference of the circle, thus the circumference equation is

-->
(1)/(2) \pi D = (1)/(2) *2*\pi *r

We are given:

  • Diameter --> 17 in

  • \pi = 3.14

Now let's calculate

(1)/(2) *3.14*17 = 26.69 in^2

Hope it helps!
