Mendel has 5 cups of salt. He wants to make sure EACH salt shaker is filled with A CUP of salt.

We need to find how much salt shakers he can fill.

We are going to be using division.

5 divided by one equals 5. He can fill five salt shakers

we divided the 5 cups of salt by one. The one here represents the salt he wants to fill each salt shaker. We got five because thats how much he can fill.

I hope we got this right!
