Answer:

The slope is the x- intercept if you can find what points on the graph the or a line passes threw. ex : what is the slope of (0, -7) and (-5, -9)

Answer: the answer is 2/5 or 0.4

Explanation:

ex : what is the slope of (0, -7) and (-5, -9)

Answer: the answer is 2/5 or 0.4

to find slope and sometimes y-intercept you would use the formula y = mx + b

where m is the Answer you get for solving y = mx + b which was 2/5 like in the example

ex: y = 2/5x + b

Also if you need to find b in the formula y= mx + b then add the y- intercept of the point on the graph with the x- intercept as 0 like the point (0, -7) to the y in the formula of y= mx + b like this

ex: -7 = 2/5x + b

Lastly you would want to solve the equation -7 = 2/5x + b to find b. To do that you must first multiply both sides by 5

ex: -7(5) = 2/5x(5) + b

Then you would get -35 = 2x + b. after you solve that you will need to divide 2 to both sides to get -35/2 = b

so that means b = -35/2

But i you need to add b into your formula of y = 2/5x + b the you would input -35/2 where b is to get your answer of:

y = 2/5x - 35/2

if your b is a negative number then you would have to change it to a subtraction symbol to get your formula answer
