Answer:

Explanation:

Periemter is 2*L + 2*W

Let x represent the width. Then the length will be 5x

2*5x + 2x = 156in

solve for x

10x + 2x = 156

12x = 156

x = 13in is the width

5x = 65in is the length

checking our answer

2*13in + 2*65in = 156in

Let us assume the length as 5x and breadth as x

Then,

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length + breadth)

→ 156inches = 2(5x + x)

→ 156 = 2(6x)

→ 156 = 12x

(156)/(12) = x

Breadth = x = 13inch

Length = 5x = 5×13 = 65inch

Area of a rectangle = Length × breadth

Area = 65×13 inches

Area = 845 inches²
