Two angles form a linear pair. The measure of one angle is 3.5 times the measure of the other angle. Find the measure of each angle.

I have no idea how to do this question, and i'm so confused..

Answer:

40° and 140°

Explanation:

A linear pair of angles sum to 180°

let x be one angle then the other is 3.5x and summing gives

x + 3.5x = 180

4.5x = 180 ( divide both sides by 4.5 )

x = 40

one angle = 40° , the other is 3.5 × 40° = 140°
