hi I'm phoebe I'm 12 years old. its not a question from a textbook but one that i thought of over the weekend. how can atoms never touch but yet we can still experience touch?

  • When we touch some thing then
  • Our neuron cells of the hand nerves get reactive.
  • They suddenly send message to brain.
  • The brain reads the message.
  • Then we observe the feeling of touch

This prevents electrons from ever coming in direct contact (in an atomic sense and literal sense). Their wave packets, on the other hand, can overlap, but never touch.
