Insightful questions to help you brainstorm your article:
What skill did you learn in school that you have wanted to learn?
What are your goals, and what has the school done to contribute to them?
Organizing your article:
What style should you use or have you been told? Here are the three formatting styles:
MLA - Used for general writing for papers and essays, commonly used
APA - Commonly used in social sciences reports for psychologists
Chicago style - Special type used for general writing, uses special indents and other formats
The average article is about three to four paragraphs. Choose the style or just ask your teacher. Organize the thesis sentence at the end of the introduction. Put all your supporting information and evidence in the middle and your weakest near the end. Add multimedia like pictures if you need to, but put them near the middle or near the end of the article. Avoid quotes in your article, but if you have to, put them around the end of your third or fourth paragraphs. Never put them in your introduction or conclusion.
