Perimeter means the boundary of any figure. so when u have to find out the perimeter of any shape u just add up all the numbers provided.

Like for example, a rectangle has length 12cm and width 4cm. find out its perimeter.

Add up all the four sides of the rectangle. 12+4+12+4= 32

or u can simply do it like this 2(l+b)

=2(12+4)

= 2(16)

therefore answer is 32.
