There are 131 students going on a field trip to pan for gold. If they are going in vans that hold 7 students each, how many vans are needed? How many students will ride in the van that isn't full? _____ vans are needed. _____ student(s) will ride in the van that isn't full. Any help?​

Explanation:

I know this because first, you divide the number of students going in the vans(7) by the total number of students(131).

Work:

131 = 18.71 (it has more decimals but you just keep the 18)

After you divide those numbers you will get 126 which is the number of students going in the the full vans. Then, you subtract the number of students going in the full vans by the number of total students, which gives you the answer of 5 meaning that there are going to be 5 students in another van.
