I NEED THIS LIKE RIGHT NOW TO RAISE UP MY ELA GRADE To whom is the author referring in the last paragraph when he says, ‘The small boy had small duties’? A) himself B) his father C) his brother D) his grandfather

Answer: his brother.

Reason: By the way you phrased the question I am assuming that the author is also a part of the story. Since the author is part of the story, and therefore a character, he can not know about his father when he was younger, only narrators can do that. Also the same goes for the grandfather. Since the author is also a part of the story, most probably the main character, he would not refer to himself in third person. Therefore through process of elimination his brother in the only possible option left.
