First we have to get 7y by itself

Subtract 3x from both sides:

w - 3x = 3x + 7y - 3x

w - 3x = 7y

Now we have to get y by itself, so divide both sides by 7

w - 3x/7 = 7y/7

w/7 - 3x/7 = y

y = w/7 - 3x/7
