A lever is an example of a force multiplier. Explain why a bicycle can be

thought of as a 'distance multiplier'.

Answer:

Applying force to the wheel so that it moves a longer distance, creates a large force on the axel so that it turns only a smaller distance. Large amounts of force applied to the axel makes the wheel go faster.
