Angle 1 and 2 are supplementary.

measure of angle 1 + measure of angle 2 = 180

x+52 + 3x = 180

4x + 52 = 180

4x = 128

x = 32

Plug that back into (x+52) and (3x) to find the measures of the angles.

x+52 = 84

3x = 96

And those add to 180.

Answer:

Solution given:

<1+<2=180°[being linear pair's angle's sum is supplementary]

x+52+3x=180°

4x=180°-52°

x=128/4

x=32°

now

<1=x+52=32+52=84°

<2=3*32=96°
