First get Y by itself
Y+7=2x
-7 -7
Y=2x-7
Then put the y into the other equation
2(2x-7)=4x-14
4x-14=4x-14
+14 +14
4x=4x+0
-4x -4x
X=0
Now that you know x = 0 put it in the first equation
Y+7=2(0)
Y+7=0
-7 -7
Y= -7
X= 0
Y=-7
