A dog with an initial velocity of 2 m/s, runs after a ball accelerating at a rate of 10 m/s2 for 4 seconds, what would its final velocity be?

Initial velocity (u) = 2 m/s

Acceleration (a) = 10 m/s^2

Time taken (t) = 4 s

Let the final velocity be v.

By using the equation,

v = u + at, we get

or, v = 2 + 10 × 4

or, v = 2 + 40

or, v = 42

The final velocity is 42 m/s.

  • initial velocity=u=2m/s
  • Acceleration=a=10m/s^2
  • Time=t=4s
  • Final velocity=v

Using first equation of kinematics

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=u+at

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=2+10(4)

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=2+40

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=42m/s
