Article III:

1. Supreme and Inferior Court justices have life tenure, and so they serve until they die, resign, retire, or are impeached and removed from office.
2. In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction.
3. According to the Supreme Court, the jury-trial right applies only when "serious" offenses are at hand—petty offenses don't invoke it.

Article IV:

1. Every State, shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive against domestic Violence.
2. No new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States.
