As a backups for the main soldiers he and his comrades walked into the many bodies littering the floor to find any survivors and bring them back to their base. He walked through the blood of both the enemy warriors and his own brethren who he fought with not hours before. He suddenly heard a pained groan and stepped over the dead bodies to find the source. He came to a stop in front of a small pile of dead bodies to see one of his men still alive underneath and immediately ran over to get the bodies off of his comrade. He shouted to the others who came over with a spread to carry the man back to their base for emergency medical attention. He watched as they left and continues to look for more people to save. By that afternoon he only found two other men and had to give up his search before it got too dark to find his way back. He got onto the back of his horse and looked at the battlefield once more feeling severe guilt bubbling up inside him for whoever else was still out there before turning around and riding away to get back to his base.
I hope this is good enough. I’m sorry about the dark blood and gore but it is a battle field after all. Hope this helps you.
