Answer:

Area = 4 cm^2.

Explanation:

BD is the height of triangle ABC.

By Pythagoras:

BD = sqrt( (2sqrt5)^2 - (3sqrt2)^2)

= sqrt(20 - 18)

= sqrt2

Area of triangle ABC

= sqrt2 * 1/2 base

= sqrt2 * 1/2( 3sqrt2 + sqrt2)

= sqrt2 * 1/2 * 4 sqrt2

= sqrt2* 2 sqrt2

= 4.
