The length of a rectangle is eight more than twice the width. The perimeter is 64. Find the length and width.

Here, L = 2W + 8, so the area formula becomes:

P = 2W + 2(2W + 8) = 64

Then: L = 2W + 8 = 2(8) + 8 = 24
