Explanation:

Step 1, Identify like terms: -y and -x aren't like terms because they aren't the same variables. (-3)+(2)+(2) Are like terms on the other hand.

Step 2: Solve like terms. -3+2 = -1

Take the -1 and add it to the last 2 in the problem. (-1+2 = 1)

Step 3: Recreate problem in simplified version.

-y-x+1
