The answer is 6
Explanation: because you substitute the given value of x which is 10 into x so 3(10) and multiply that which would give you 30+5x=60 after that subtract 30 from both sides to get 5x alone so 60-30=30 so now we have 5y=30 now divide5 from both sides to get y alone so 5 cancels 5 and 30 divided by 5 would give you y=6

Given :-

  • x = 10
  • 3x + 5y = 60

\\ \\

To find :-

  • value of y

\\ \\

Solution :-

\\

\looparrowright \sf3x + 5y = 60

Put value of x in the equation!

\\

\looparrowright \sf3(10)+ 5y = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf3 * 10+ 5y = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf30+ 5y = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf5(6 + y) = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf(6 + y) = 60 / 5

\\

\looparrowright \sf6 + y= (60)/(5)

\\

\looparrowright \sf6 + y=\cancel (60)/(5)

\\

\looparrowright \sf6 + y= (12)/(1)

\\

\looparrowright \sf6 + y=12

\\

\looparrowright \sf y=12 - 6

\\

\looparrowright \bf y=6

\\

Verification:-

\\

\looparrowright \sf3x + 5y = 60

Put value of x and y.

\\

\looparrowright \sf3(10)+ 5(6) = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf3 * 10+ 5(6) = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf30+ 5(6) = 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf30+ 5 * 6= 60

\\

\looparrowright \sf30+ 30= 60

\\

\looparrowright \bf60= 60

LHS = RHS

HENCE VERIFIED!
