x = 2
Step-by-step explanation:
2(x+2)-5=3(x-1)
1) Use distributive property (multiply the 2 by x+2 and the 3 by x-1)
2x+4-5=3x-3
2) Combine like terms
2x-1=3x-3
3) Subtract 2x on both sides
-1=x-3
4) Add 3 on both sides
2=x
