Explanation:

To figure out this problem, we need to have the same value of each side (I don't know what it is called, but what I mean is 27 has to equal 3 in some way).

27 is 3^3, so 3^[3*(x/2)]=3^(x-1). Now that each side has the same value, we can eliminate them because we are only trying to find x. Now we get, 3x/2=x-1

This should be easy to compute, but I'll just show it to you. 3x=2x-2------x=-2
