For a) [ (-1/2)^3 / (1/4)^2] = [(-1/8)X(16/1)] = -2 but since there is modulus you will get positive 2. The function of modulus is to make sure that you don't have any negative values.

For b) (9^2-15X2) /17 = (81-30)/17 = 51/17 = 3. Parenthesis has higher priority than division.

For c) -10 X (24-4^2) = -10 X(24-16) = -10 X(8) = -80

For d) (-4+12-6^2) /7 = (-4+12-36)/7= (-28)/7 = -4
