How did the Philipines get their independance

We are not ruled by anyone else, so we are a free country. There isn't a country that has all of the resources it needs, so we have to trade with other countries and exchange goods. We can, however, use our own resources and make things up to meet our needs. People can use solar or wind power instead of fossil fuel. To be free from outside help, we might have to solve our own problems, like poverty, unemployment, corruption in government, overpopulation, illiteracy and so on. But as a country, even our president is working hard to make the Philippines a better and more progressive country.
