To achieve the goal of the answer you need to draw lines between the points to form triangles. With that being said you can create a line between e and b then identify what type of triangle it forms; thus, leading you to your answer.

180° + 360° = 540°

How? The "top" part could be seen as a triangle (180 degrees), and we know that a quadrilateral's angles add up to 360 degrees, so when we add them together we get out answer!
