Explanation:

let the no be x

1/6 th of the no= x/6

two times the no =2x

according to the question,

x/6=2x-99

-2x-x/6=99

-12x+x/6=99

-11x/6=99

-11x=99*6

-11x=594

x=594/-11

x=-54
