8x=10 or 8(1.25)=10

Explanation:

if you have 8 songs that equal the amount of 10 dollars then you have to find the unit rate, aka what one song costs.

so you would do the dollar amount divided by the number of songs so

10÷8

this gives you 1.25 dollars. this is the unit rate.

so in order to pay 10 dollars for 8 songs, you would pay 1.25 dollars for each.

in equations in general, whenever you see something costing something, it almost always is the thing you are buying times the cost of one of that thing.

so 8(songs) times x (cost of 1) equals 10 (cost of all 8)
