x + y = 10
x + y = 5(x - y)
x + y = 5x - 5y
y = 4x - 5y
6y = 4x, x = 6/4y

Plug in the value for first equation
6/4y + y = 10
6y + 4y = 40
10y = 40, y = 4
Find other number. 10-4 = 6
Solution: the numbers are 6 and 4
