3. Why is the lung considered as the primary organ of the respiratory system?

Because its the area that blood picks up oxygen and drops off carbon dioxide. There are also many reactions in the lungs.

The lungs are the primary organs as they carry out the gas exchange that occurs when we breathe. The lungs collaborate with the circulatory system to provide oxygen-rich blood to all of the body's cells.
