Elliot got some new trading cards. He has 4 packs with 20 cards each. Another pack has only 8 cards.

Which equation shows a way to find how many cards Elliot has in all?
c = (4 x 20) + 8
c = 4 + 20 + 8
c = (4 x 8) + 20

C = (4 x 20) + 8

This is the correct answer because if Elliot had 4 packs and each had 20 cards, it’ll be like you are multiplying 4x20, and because Elliot had only 8 cards in the other pack , you can’t multiply it , there for you add it instead.

Answer:

(4 x 20) + 8 = 88

Explanation:

If you have 4 packs and 20 in each, you will have to multiply.

Whenever you see the word each you might have to divide or multiply

So to do this in order you will multiple first and get:

4 x 20 = 80

then he has 8 more

so just add 8

80 + 8 = 88
