When state legislatures and governors ban gatherings of over 50 people, does that violate the First Amendment’s protection for the freedom of assembly?

While it could raise concerns about freedom of assembly or another constitutional right, "the federal government has the authority to limit rights as long as it has a compelling justification and no better alternative," and also as stated in this quote "Saving the lives of its citizens is without a doubt the most compelling government interest." As a result, the First Amendment is not violated in this case.
