Circumference = 87.92

To find the radius;

The formula for finding the circumference is 2πr. Therefore;


87.92 = 2\pi r \\ \pi = 3.14 \\ therefore \\ 87.92 = 2 * 3.14r \\87.92 = 6.28r \\ we \: have \: to \: make \: r \: the \: subject \\ r = (87.92)/(6.28) \\ = 14

So now that we have our radius to be 14 we substitute it into the equation for finding the area


area = \pi {r}^(2) \\ r = 14 \\ therefore \\ area = 3.14 * {14}^(2) \\ = 3.14 * 196 \\ = 615.44 \: square \: inches
