Compare both pairs

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow 8q-2=6

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow 8q=6+2

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow 8q=8

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow q=(8)/(8)

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow q=1

And

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow 2-7p=p+6

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow 2-6=8p

\\ \rm{:}\dashrightarrow p=-1/2
