The perimeter of a parallelogram is 52 meters. The width of the parallelogram is 2 meters less than its length. Find the length and the width of the parallelogram.

Answer:

P=2(l+w)

or, 52=2(l+l-2)

or, 52=4l-4

or, 56 =4l

therefore length=14m

therefore breadth=l-2=12m

length = 14 metres, width = 12 metres

Explanation:

let x be length

length = x

width = x-2

perimeter of parallelogram = 52

length + length + width + width = 52

x+x+x-2+x-2=52

4x-4=52

4x=56

x=14

length = 14 metres

width = 14 - 2 = 12 metres
