to get r, divide the square into two triangles

then use Pythagoras theorem to get the hypothenuse

(10x10)+(10x10)=hxh

200=h²

√200=h

h=14.14

h=diameter

therefore, the radius=7.07

now back to the area of a circle

π x7.07²

=49.98π

area of shaded part=area of circle - area of square

=49.98π- 100
