Solve 2x^2 - 4x - 3 = 0

Using the Quadratic formula

(Show step by step how to get the answer because I gotta show my work)

2x^2 - 4x - 3 = 0 ——— a = 2, b = -4, c = -3
quad formula is
-b +/- (square root) b^2 - 4ac /2a
-(-4) +/- (sr) -4^2 - (4 x 2 x -3) / (2 x 2)
4 +/- (sr) 16 - -24 / 4
4 +/- (sr) 40 / 4
put it into calc
4 + (sq) 40 / 4 = 2.5811 (4dp)
4 - (sq) 40 / 4 = -0.5811 (4dp)
