Answer:

h = 15.3768177

Explanation:

Lets start with what we know.

the volume of a cylinder is: V = π r² h

The radius is 10cm

the volume is 20.420.35

we can replace V with 20.420.35, since we know the volume, and we can replace r with 10, since we know the radius.

V = π r² h

20.420.35 = π 10² h

Now, we're gonna need to avoid h, and try to use do what we know, in the equation, aka: π 10²

10², is 100. 100 * 3.14 is 314

So now, we have 314 * h = 20.420.35

(Think: This is similar to #x =###)

so what do we do when we need to get an unknown variable thats multiplied? Divison!

(Divison because its the inverse opperation of multiplying.)

314 * h = 20.420.35

÷314 ÷314

h = 15.3768177

My work:

V = π r² h

20.420.35 = π 10² h

20.420.35 = 3.14 100 h

20.420.35 = 314 h

÷314 ÷314

h = 15.3768177
