here we isolated the original line

now we know that the line will have exactly the same slope but we need to find c in the new line: y = x/4 + c

so, we input the point (2,-5):


c = - (20)/(4) - (2)/(4) = -(22)/(4) \\y = (x)/(4) - (22)/(4)

check that it works: y = 2/4 - 22/4 = -20/4 = -5
