Solution:
Use Pythagorean theorem which is a^2+b^2=c^2
Your a and b are the two sides and your c is the hypotenuse.
Plugging into the formula you get
a^2 + (5.6)^2 = (10.6)^2
Solve for a
a^2 = (10.6)^2 - (5.6)^2
a^2 =81
a= square root of (81)
a=9 in
