I'm assuming there's a picture of a line, so here's how you decide:

1. Where does your line cross the y-axis?

  • If it's at (0,2), then the first function is your answer, f(x) = 3/2x+2
  • If it's at (0,–2), then it's one of the other three and keep going.

2. If the y-intercept is (0,–2), what is the slope?

From your y-intercept, to get to another point to the right of this y-intercept, what do you do?

  • If you go up 2 and right 3, your answer is f(x) = 2/3x -2
  • If you go up 3 and right 2, your answer if f(x) = 3/2x - 2
  • If you go down 2 and right 3, your answer is f(x) = -2/3x -2

Let me know if you have any follow up questions in a comment.
